A Life of Risk

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said, Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.

Judges 6:36 to 37

The problem with many people today is that they just lack the faith to trust God to take care of them. I have learnt that when you step out of Gods plan for your life it is then that your life is a life of risk and displeasure.

But, my friend, if you are grounded on the Word of God and you believe that your steps are ordered of the Lord and you are trusting God in every little step you make, I believe that your life can and will be risk-free. Your life becomes a life of faith; the only risk we run is the risk of not obeying God.

There is a big difference between opening a business and then praying for success, and praying to God for direction and He telling you to open a business. I have met so many Christians who are so interested in making a success of life that the only time they ask God for direction is when things go terribly wrong.

The Christian life does not have to be a life of taking risks, but your life should be a life of taking bold steps of faith.

As a Christian, do you see your life as taking risks or do you believe that you are trusting God to direct your paths? Always remember what Psalm 37:23 says, "The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord, and he delights in his way."
